Lab (Terrorism, Insurgencies, & Guerillas in Education & Research). His main fields of interest are terrorism and counter terrorism. He serves as associate editor of the journal Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, as well as member of the editorial boards of Armed Forces & Society, Terrorism and Political Violence and Civil Wars.
