BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Brummett studies the ways in which popular culture creates attitudes and dispositions in people so as to affect the management of power. He has studied film, popular literature, social style and apocalyptic books and fliers among other thing. He is an expert on steampunk, an aesthetic style grounded in the Victorian era, age of steam or Industrial Age. The idea of steampunk imagines how the world would look if steam had continued to be the major source of power since the Industrial Revolution. He is now at work on an edited anthology titled "The Rhetoric of Steampunk," to be published in 2014.
