BIOGRAPHY
After a career in business as a successful advertising agency entrepreneur and consumer research specialist (working for clients such as Harley Davidson, Rollerblade, Norwest Banks, National Cars, Gateway Computers, Hotel Sofitel and Motorola) Dr. Burns joined the faculty of the Advertising Department at The University of Texas. At U.T., Burns teaches graduate courses in Account Planning, which deals with the development of creative strategy, as well as courses in Advertising Agency Management and Advertising and Society. His research interests are the Internet and the development of interactive advertising; the relationship of children and youth to advertising and new media; and in the growth and activity of ad agencies and programs focused on minority segments.
