BIOGRAPHY
Before coming to the University of Texas at Austin in 1985, John Sharp served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force and was an associate professor and department chair at the University of Missouri. In 1994, Sharp traveled to Adelaide, Australia as a visiting scientist for C.S.I.R.O. Centre for Groundwater Studies. He has received several honors throughout his career, including the Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District Research Conservation Award in 2004. He serves as president of the Geological Society of America, 2007-2008.
