BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Divine's primary interest is in 20th century American diplomatic history and the presidency, from FDR through Clinton. He has written or edited books on three presidents -- Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Lyndon B. Johnson. He has also written books and articles on the fallout from nuclear testing, the American response to Sputnik and the Persian Gulf War. His latest book, Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace, an analysis of American involvement in the wars of the 20th century, was published by the Texas A&M University Press in September, 2000.
