University of Texas Libraries:
Where information is digital, interaction
is human
In August 2004, the General
Libraries, the administrative
umbrella for 13 libraries on
campus and in Port Aransas — the Perry-Castañeda Library,
Undergraduate Library, Architecture & Planning
Library, Fine Arts Library, Life Science Library,
Mallet Chemistry Library, Kuehne Physics Mathematics
Astronomy Library, McKinney Engineering Library,
Classics Library, Walter Geology Library, Nettie
Lee Benson Latin American Collection, Wasserman
Public Affairs Library and the Marine Science
Library — became the The University of
Texas Libraries.
The University
of Texas Libraries is dedicated to the
advancement of teaching, learning
and research. It is one of
the most prominent academic
research libraries in North America with a
comprehensive, dynamic virtual presence. It
is a national learning repository
and an active agent for promoting change.
The University of Texas Libraries' new Web
site, which debuted on Aug. 16, 2004, reflects
an organization where the information is digital,
but the interaction is human. The
site won a bronze national
CASE award in the Web site
category this year.
