A Salute to Military Veterans, POWs, MIAs

U.S. Air Force Cadet Major Valerie Solis, a senior education major, carries the POW/MIA flag for the last leg of the ROTC's 24-hour run honoring military veterans, which culminated in a Veteran's Day ceremony on the South Mall.

In a formal flag retreat ceremony, formations of Air Force, Navy and Army cadets/midshipmen came to attention and saluted during the playing of the national anthem while the American Flag was lowered and folded. To further honor military personnel, ROTC representatives presented a check for $500 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization.
