Fleet Support
What We Do
University Operations staff using TRecs supported computers do not have to worry about what security patches should be applied to which systems and when. The Fleet Support team provides the behind-the-scenes operating system patches, application updates, and anti-virus definitions that keep your computers up-to-date, and lessens their vulnerability to computer worms and other malware.
We also create and maintain ?groups? of users. This makes it easier for the owners of documents stored on servers managed by TRecs to authorize and/or limit access to their data.
How We Do It
Using systems management software for Windows-based systems, Fleet Support provides operating system patch management, software and anti-virus definition updates, and hardware and software inventory reporting for the entire University Operations portfolio.
Authorization to shared network resources is applied at startup for computers and during logon for users.
Who We Are
The Fleet Support team includes an Operating Systems Specialist and two Network Analysts who often work in the wee hours of the night or morning to ensure that ?packages? and ?deployments? to your systems happen outside your normal working hours (when possible). Ever heard of a GIAC, an MCSA, an MCSE 2000, or an MCSA 2003? They are premier certifications for professionals who analyze business risks and requirements, and design and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on Microsoft Windows platforms and Microsoft server software. And we?re proud to say we have team members who have earned them.
