2014 Bike to UT Day

Thursday, May 1st

Come celebrate Bike to UT Day with us! PTS wants to encourage cycling and bring awareness to bicycle use on campus and the community as a whole.

From 7:30 to 9:30am

For commuting cyclists, stop by one of the PTS kiosks between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. on your way into campus to get a complimentary light breakfast* and a chance to enter a raffle for prizes.

From noon to 3:00pm

Speedway Plaza will be full of bike enthusiasts and festivities. Enjoy free pizza, t-shirts, bike lights and maps.

Along with free food and giveaways, the plaza will be lined with various campus groups, all with an appreciation for cycling in common.

  • Orange Bike Project will be helping cyclists fix up their rides, lending tools and tips.
  • The Campus Environmental Center will have a bike-powered smoothie maker with a refreshing payoff for peddlers.
  • RecSports spin bikes will remind users that cycling can also serve as exercise.
  • You'll even have the chance to test your riding skills on a mini bicycle.

From 4:00 to 5:00pm

Additionally, participate in a Safe Cycling 101 class with pizza and helmet giveaways in Wel 2.308.
