University Fleet Operations
University Fleet Operations provides everything needed to manage and maintain the university's large and diverse fleet. UFO even offers fuel and services necessary to maintain the fleet vehicles of other state agencies too.
As a leader in the community, UFO has worked diligently to help reduce the university's carbon footprint through such initiatives as: requiring new vehicles to be alternative fuel capable; offering biodiesel, propane, and E85 at our Main campus fuel station on Manor Road; providing clean burning biodiesel at our PRC fuel station; and working with departments to encourage electric carts as replacements for gas-guzzling vehicles.
University Fleet Operations even offers a web-based method for monitoring your fleet's vehicles. Check out CARMA (Customer Automotive Records Maintenance Access).
Services Provided for University Fleet Vehicles
- Assistance in ordering and retiring vehicles, carts, trailers, and all rolling stock
- Maintenance, scheduled service, and repairs performed by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians at two maintenance facilities
- Self-service gasoline pumps with unleaded, propane, ethanol (E85), diesel, and biodiesel fuels
- Self-service car wash facilities
- Compliance and data reporting to state and federal agencies
- Processing retail fuel card requests (for off campus fueling)
- Licensed Texas vehicle inspections
- Vehicle and boat registration renewals
- Texas liquefied gas tax decal renewals
- Replacing lost, stolen, or damaged license plates
- Assistance in accident reporting
- Texas Railroad Commission certified alternative fuels conversion and repairs shop
- 12- & 15-passenger van operator’s training and authorization
- Vehicle motor pool – loaner cars for cars in for service
