For Moove-In parking, students must either obtain a permit from their dorm or park in one of the garages. Do not park in the street. This will disrupt the traffic flow and result in a citation. All of the dorms have valet carts to check out so you can move your belongings from your parking location to the dorm.
Please park where instructed and if an official asks you to move, please follow directions to avoid a citation. Be courteous and mindful of others who are also trying to move into the dorms. Do not block pathways or vehicle lanes. Clean up after yourself and dispose of trash in the trashcans - not in parking spaces or on the floor of the garage.
Students are issued permits for Moove-In parking at the front desk of their dorms. Each dorm has a specific color permit that allows parking in the area specified on the permit. Permits are only valid for 60 minutes in the areas designated on the permit. Parking in areas outside of what is indicated on the permit will result in a citation. If you need to park for more than an hour, please use the garage parking option listed below.
Typically, the garages on campus are free to park in during the Moove-in period beginning around Friday at 5 p.m. until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. In the event that parking is free, the gates will be popped open. (Sometimes, other events on campus may conflict with Moove-In and some garages may require a fee). If you are in Brazos Garage past the Moove-In period, starting at midnight Monday morning through the time you leave, fees will be charged based on the length of time you parked in the garage. For all other garages, charges begin to accumulate at 6 a.m. Monday morning.
We suggest that those moving into Jester or San Jacinto dorms park in the Brazos Garage to unload their possessions and not in the street.
