Recent Changes in Special
Event Parking
Back
-
In March of 2002, Parking and Transportation Services
established a Parking Enforcement Section. Parking
Enforcement Assistants (PEA) were brought under
the direct supervision of the PTS Parking Enforcement
Manager.
-
During the Fall of 2002, Event Parking management
was moved to the PTS Event Coordinator.
-
Requests for Special event guards, whether in
University buildings or in surface lots or outside
venues, will be coordinated with the PTS Event
Coordinator. PTS will disseminate the information
to the event coordinators in PTS Enforcement Management
and UTPD.
-
Requests for cones, tins, or barricades to reserve
Special Event Spaces go to the PTS Event Coordinator
(EC) for approval. The PTS EC then creates maps
of the event location and forwards this information
to the PTS Enforcement division for scheduling.
Cones, tins, an barricades are placed in the early
morning hours of the day of the event by the PTS
Enforcement night shift. Any disruptions
will necessitate the requesting department paying
for garage parking for the displaced permit holders.
-
Disruption of regular University parking spaces
requires that PTS contact and relocate permit holders.
Displaced parkers will be relocated to one of the
eight university parking garages and the sponsor of
the event will be held responsible for any related
parking charges. Notification of displaced parkers
is done via e-mail and temporary signage. PTS Enforcement
will produce the number of signs required for this
notification and will bill the requesting department
$25
per sign.
