The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy helps change the world by preparing the most outstanding students for challenging careers as pharmacy clinicians and scientists while improving the health care of all Texans through discovery and development in the research laboratories. In 2008, U.S. News and World Report ranked the college among the elite programs of pharmaceutical education in the country.
The college has a rich history in Texas pharmacy, going back to October 1883, when the University of Texas offered the state's first pharmacy classes on the campus of the UT Medical Branch at Galveston. In 1928, the pharmacy college moved to the UT Austin campus.
Today the college finds its home in a two-building complex situated in the heart of the Austin campus. The more than 600 professional degree students and approximately 100 graduate students represent the finest of the profession's future while college faculty are recognized nationally for their research and instructional expertise.
