Pharm D. applicants (those wanting to become
pharmacists) should complete the steps for professional student
application at
www.utexas.edu/pharmacy/admissions/pharmd.html
Credentials of most successful College of Pharmacy graduate school applicants exceed the minimum University requirements listed below.
Applicants meeting the minimum requirements are seldom competitive for admission. Our typical successful international applicant has a
master's degree in a relevant science. The science divisions admit students only for the Ph.D. degree. Admission is highly competitive
and not all qualified applicants are admitted.
Minimum application requirements include:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited United States institution or proof of equivalent training in a foreign institution;
- A 3.0 (B) grade point average on all upper-division (junior and senior) and graduate-level coursework previously taken;
-
A combined verbal and quantitative score of 1000 or higher on the Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE) is recommended.
Information on GRE administration is available at most universities or may be obtained from the Education Testing Service, CN 6001,
Princeton, NJ, 08541-6001. The code for reporting scores to UT-Austin is 6882 and for the College of Pharmacy the code is 0216.
- Adequate subject preparation for the proposed graduate major;
- Acceptance by the Admissions Committee of the proposed major area (Pharmacy).
