About the Program
The Diabetes Disease State Management Course will provide pharmacists with an advanced level of diabetes management skills, through both online didactic activities and a hands-on workshop.
Who Should Register?
Pharmacists should register for this course if they are seeking advanced-level diabetes training which incorporates hands-on learning opportunities facilitated by expert faculty, in order to provide their patients with comprehensive diabetes management services. This is an excellent course for pharmacists planning to participate (or currently participating) in a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program. The course is also helpful in preparing pharmacists who are working to become a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or a Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Manager (BC-ADM).
Note: This intensive program is not designed for individuals simply seeking to obtain their annual CPE requirement! Registration is limited to 30 participants.

This application-based program provides a total of 24.75 contact hours (2.475 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education. This is comprised of a 14.75 contact hours (1.475 CEUs) online education program via DM Educate modules, and a 10 contact hours (1.0 CEUs) live workshop.
In order to receive 24.75 contact hours (2.475 CEUs) of continuing education credit, participants must complete both the DM Educate online modules, as well as the live workshop. Successful completion is defined as a passing grade (minimum 70%) on each of the assigned online self-study DM Educate modules and participation in all of the live workshop exercises with submission of an evaluation form. The CPE statements for the online self-study DM Educate modules will be self-printed by participants and the CPE statements for the completion of the live workshop will be uploaded to the CPE Monitor site by The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy Continuing Education Office approximately 3-4 weeks following the live workshop. The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy Continuing Education Office will also issue a certificate intended for display purposes to participants via US mail.
