Homecoming Weekend consists of the Alumni Reception & Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 7 and a tailgate party on Saturday, November 8.Alumni Reception & Awards Ceremony
The 2014 Alumni Reception & Awards Ceremony, features the presentation of the William J. Sheffield Outstanding Alumnus Award, the Legend of Pharmacy Award, and the Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.The reception will be held on Friday, November 7 at The UT Club in Austin in the President’s Room on the 6th floor. It will feature hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. This reception will begin at 6:00pm with presentation of the awards beginning at 6:45pm. Ticket prices are $25 for members of the Alumni Association and $35 for non-Alumni Association members. Please email Kathryn Conyers to check on your status. Please note that being a member of the College of Pharmacy Alumni Association is not the same as being a member of the Texas Exes. Ticket prices include parking and assorted hors d’oeuvres. Dress for the event is business / cocktail.
In addition to honoring this year’s award honorees, we will be recognizing our alumni who graduated in '64, '74, '84, '94,and '04. If you graduated in one of these years and would like to serve as chair or co-chair of this event, please contact Katie Conyers.
The UT Club is located at 2108 Robert Dedman Drive on the sixth and seventh floors of the East Side of Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium on the University of Texas campus. Complimentary parking is available in the Manor Garage across from the UT Club. Tell the parking attendant that you are attending the College of Pharmacy's homecoming event at the UT Club for complimentary parking. We are excited offer a free, 1-hour continuing education event prior to the start of the tailgate party. CE will begin at 10:30am. Dr. Patrick J. Davis, Senior Associate Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the UT College of Pharmacy, will deliver a presentation titled, "Designing a Disaster: The Predictable Consequences of Vaccine Non-Compliance." This talk will be given in 3.106. Please send us an email if you are interested in attending.
On November 8, 2014, join your fellow alumni and friends to cheer the Longhorns to victory as they take on West Virginia. All alumni and friends are invited to attend our tailgate party, which will feature a buffet and a cash bar. Tickets for the tailgate party are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 6- 17. Tickets cover food costs. There will be a cash bar.
Our tailgate party will be held on the College of Pharmacy's 2nd floor between the two pharmacy buildings. The tailgate party will begin at 11:30AM (kick-off is at 2:30PM). Please check this website for schedule updates.

Weekend, please contact Katie Conyers. Often, classes like to coordinate their own parties that can include
dinners, or lunches. We love it when classes have their own special get-togethers and are happy to help you organize to the extent we are able.
Many of our student organizations will be present at the tailgate party, selling their wares and sharing information about the great work they are doing with our attendees. Make sure to visit their tables at the party!

A room block has been set up at the Embassy Suites Austin Central. You may call 800-729-5711 to make your own reservation. The group code is UP2 and the group name is "College of Pharmacy / Reunion Weekend." The rate per room per night is $149. This special rate is offered on November 7 and 8. Be sure to call by October 17 to make your reservation.
Getting to the tailgate party
Please allow yourself time to get to the tailgate as the campus is very busy on game day and traffic will be congested. Entrances are most accessible on the west and north sides of the pharmacy building. See our parking and directions pages for more information. If you have any specific concerns or needs, please call Katie Conyers at 512-232-2779.
Parking during game day can be extremely challenging. There is limited street parking. Parking is often available in university garages for a fee. Check the link below to determine which garages will be open. Please plan accordingly. Carpooling or bus/taxi service is encouraged.

From Downtown: Take any west bound street (4th, 6th, 8th, 10th) to Lavaca and head north on Lavaca. Take a right on Guadalupe and take Guadalupe to Dean Keeton (26th) and turn right. Pass Whitis and turn left onto University Avenue. The College of Pharmacy is located at the cul-de-sac of University and Dean Keeton. Burdine is on the east side of University Avenue with the two building pharmacy complex immediately following. The Tailgate Party is on the 2nd floor of the new Pharmacy Building.
From IH-35: From IH-35 lower deck, take the 26th Street (Dean Keeton) exit. Head west on 26th Street. Continue through the stoplights at Red River, Robert Dedman, San Jacinto and Speedway, heading west to University Avenue. The College of Pharmacy is located at the cul-de-sac of University and Dean Keeton. Burdine is on the east side of University Avenue with the two-building pharmacy complex immediately following. The Tailgate is on the 2nd floor of the new Pharmacy Building.
From Mopac: Take Windsor Road exit and head east. Windsor turns into 24th at the top of the hill just east of Mopac. Take 24th east crossing Lamar and to the stoplight at Guadalupe. Turn left (north) at Guadalupe. Turn right on Dean Keeton (26th) heading right/east. The College of Pharmacy is located at the cul-de-sac of University and Dean Keeton. Burdine is on the east side of University Avenue with the two-building pharmacy complex immediately following. The tailgate party is on the 2nd floor of the new Pharmacy Building.
