Annual Fund gifts typically range from $50 to $5,000 and are used by the College to support several important areas. These gifts are used primarily for the following purposes:
Supporting Students - The overwhelming majority of Annual Fund contributions benefit pharmacy students directly. Such gifts support the activities of fifteen professional student organizations, enriching the development of these young professionals outside the classroom. Your support enables our students to travel to state and national conferences, participate in community service projects, and gain exposure to today's pharmacy leaders.
Strengthening Academic Programs - Annual fund gifts enhance the academic experience at the College of Pharmacy by providing support for special seminars and symposia, guest lectures, teaching excellence awards, and other unique educational experiences for students and faculty alike. Such activities would not be possible without private support from alumni and friends of the College.
Providing a Margin of Excellence - The University of Texas College of Pharmacy is a very special institution - namely because of its talented faculty and truly remarkable students. But, it's also special because of its loyal alumni who have provided the resources necessary to ensure the College remains at least one step ahead of the pack. Endowments are the gifts that keep on giving. The funds are invested by the UT System, and the interest generated by that investment is used for the purpose you wish to support -- financial aid, merit awards for students, supplemental salary support for faculty, research, etc. A portion of the income is re-invested each year, enabling the endowment to continue to grow and provide a predictable, stable stream of income over time. Endowment gifts can be made through pledges and fulfilled over a 5-year period.
