Dr. Janet C. Walkow is an accomplished executive with proven expertise and experience in the scientific and business arenas for more than twenty-five years. Dr. Walkow's extensive work in drug development combined with experience in business operations provides a unique blend of technical, analytical and management skills. She built her reputation in the pharmaceutical industry on successes as a creative scientist, multifaceted project manager, innovative Human Resource Director and transitioned into successful global strategic planning and communication leadership roles. Building on her successes in R&D, Strategic Planning, Human Resources, Project Management, Merger and Acquisition activities, Janet continues to improve the performance of teams, systems and organizations in both the R&D and corporate environments.

Trained in pharmacokinetics and pharmaceutical development at the University of Texas, Janet implemented innovative research programs at Merck Research Laboratories and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer where she was involved in all aspects of drug development activities leading to product registration.

In August 2008, Janet joined the Drug Dynamics Institute at The University of Texas. Her depth and scope of experience in both R&D and corporate business development gives her a unique perspective and understanding of the drug development process and the management structures and functions needed to optimize organizational design for effectively and efficiently managing research programs and bringing products to the market successfully. Leading the Drug Dynamic Institute, a collaborative research center, Janet brings together scientists and investigators to work on novel solutions for disease and healthcare issues. The Institute partners with University, industry and community leaders to foster collaborations and to develop ways to eliminate barriers to commercialization opportunities.

A leader in efforts to empower women - locally and around the world, Janet is a co-founder of the Leading Women Project, designed to help women of all ages and professions learn to lead – both themselves and others.  Janet works with a variety of organizations and continues to seek out opportunities to identify ways to provide goods and services that support and empower women around the world.  She combines her passion for women and high impact communications, creating Women in Science programs and serving as a coach and mentor helping women develop leadership skills.
