Scott & White Hospital is a 500-bed teaching facility for the UT College of Pharmacy and Texas A&M College of Medicine.

The Department of Pharmacy at Scott & White provides progressive, clinically-oriented pharmacy services for the hospital & clinic.  Clinical pharmacy specialists currently practice at Scott & White in a variety of specialty areas include adult medicine, pediatrics, hematology/oncology, drug information, and ambulatory care.

A major element of the departmental teaching mission involves offering both pharmacy practice and specialty residency training opportunities, in addition to precepting Pharm.D students from the University of Texas and University of Houston. The Scott & White Department of Pharmacy, in conjunction with the College of Pharmacy, The University of Texas at Austin, offers a variety of pharmacy practice residencies annually.  Five University of Texas-affiliated positions are offered as hospital-based, ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residencies designed to provide broad training and experience for individuals with interest in hospital pharmacy practice.   One of the residency positions is based in the Scott & White Children's Hospital.  Pharmacy practice residents divide the year between clinical rotations and Scott & White patient care pharmacist responsibilities.  This unique combination of training and practice responsibilities provide a blend of experience for highly motivated individuals with a significant interest in hospital pharmacy practice who are beginning their professional careers.

Opportunities are also available for collaborative research and teaching experiences for the resident.  Resident research projects are presented research-in-progress posters at the winter ASHP Mid-Year Meeting and research project results at the TSHP meeting in the spring.

The University of Texas at Austin and its affiliated institutions are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.  Qualified women and minorities are encouraged to apply.  Security sensitive; conviction verification conducted on applicant selected.
