Primary hematology/oncology rotations offered provide an extensive experiential component for hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy practice. Hematology/oncology specific rotations include: oncology, hematology, pain management, pediatric oncology, stem cell transplantation, and ambulatory care. Other rotations are also available: infectious disease, radiation oncology, nutritional support, managed care, pharmacy administration, surgery, and many additional electives are available. The residency experience is highly individualized; rotations are chosen and designed according to needs and interests of the resident.
The resident participates in multidisciplinary educational activities, including presentation of lectures and inservices, supervision of pharmacy students on clinical rotations, informal teaching of medical students and residents, and teaching of pharmacists and nurses. Opportunities are available to participate in ongoing research and to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
