Biographical Sketch

Tami Argo, PharmD, MS, BCCP, first attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she received her B.A. in Biological Sciences in 1997.  Soon after graduation, she moved to Iowa City, Iowa, and began the PharmD program at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in the fall of 1998.  Upon receiving her PharmD in 2002, Dr. Argo pursued postgraduate training under the direction of Dr. Paul Perry at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy from 2002-2005, completing a residency/fellowship training program in Psychopharmacology.  As well, she received her Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy through the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties in December of 2004.  In conjunction with her fellowship training, Dr. Argo completed an M.S. in Epidemiology from the University of Iowa College of Public Health and received her degree in Spring of 2005. 
 
In support of her last year of fellowship training, Tami was awarded an American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Post-PharmD Fellowship in the Biomedical Research Sciences.  During her postgraduate training, Dr. Argo was involved in local, state, and national pharmacy organizations, including Johnson County Pharmacists Association, ACCP, ASHP, and the College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists.  While a fellow at UI, she gained experience lecturing in courses including Clinical Professional Skills, Advanced Practice Laboratory, Substance Abuse, Psychiatric and Neurologic Therapeutics, and Advanced Clincal Psychopharmacology. As well, her research interests include Pharmacoepidemiology and Outcomes, particularly metabolic and health consequences associated with mental illness and the use of psychotropic therapies. 
 
Dr. Argo will be residing in South Austin with her younger brother, Ryan, who recently received his bachelors and masters degrees in Economics, Finance, and International Business from Washington University in St. Louis.  In her spare time, Tami spends her time with hobbies, including entertaining her two cats, Murphy and Abby, dabbling in guitar, attending music concerts, jewelry beading, quilting, and homebrewing.
