Division Head
Lawson's research activities focus on factors affecting the utilization and costs of prescription medications and other health care services (including managed health care system activities such as generic utilization incentives, benefit design, formulary restrictions, and drug utilization review). In addition, he is involved in research to evaluate the effects of educational interventions.
Assistant Division Head
Dr. Karboski teaches undergraduate, professional and graduate courses related to the clinical practice of pharmacy, including patient assessment, pharmacotherapeutics,
pharmacokinetics, and applied pharmacology. Dr. Karboski's interests focus on curriculum development and innovation.
Faculty at UT Campus
Acosta's areas of interest include over-the-counter products, sterile product admixture, and the education, training and utilization of pharmacy technicians.
Barner's research interests
include: 1) examining the impact of pharmacy services (primarily medication therapy management services) on patient outcomes; 2) understanding factors that
affect health care utilization and outcomes; and 3) examining the factors associated with medication adherence.
Barnes' teaching focuses on development of clinical skills laboratory instruction, as well as adult medicine with emphasis on cardiovascular and emergency medicine.
Brown's research interests primarily involve understanding cultural and social elements that may impact both quality of care and therapeutic outcomes of patients with chronic illnesses, particularly ethnic minority patients who experience a disproportionate burden of poor health.
Burkett's areas of interest include hospital and health system pharmacy management. She is the course coordinator for the Institutional Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience.
Dr. Crismon's current research and practice involve the development and evaluation of strategies to improve the pharmacotherapy, pharmacoeconomics, and health outcomes of individuals with mental disorders, particularly severe and persistent mental disorders seen in adults and children.
Dr. Ford's
research interests center in the areas of health promotion, health behavior change, and health disparities among youth, underserved populations and minorities. Her scholarly work utilizes behavioral science strategies to prevent and reduce
cancer-related risk factors, including tobacco use, as well as other negative health risk behaviors which contribute to chronic illnesses.
Ms Ginsburg is internationally known for her work on communications skills, ethics, and the legal and regulatory aspects of pharmacy and healthcare.
Dr. Kattura teaches psychiatry related topics in our curriculum and coordinates the clinical psychopharmacology course for psychiatry residents. Her practice site is Seton Shoal Creek where PharmD Student Interns and
Pharmacy Residents receive hands on training and experience in the field of acute adult inpatient psychiatry.

In addition to being a Distinguished Lecturer in the college, Kloesel coordinates the Care And Respect for the Elderly (CARE) Program.
Dr. Lopez is course coordinator for "Case-Based Studies in Diabetes Management" and "Pharmacy-Based Immunization Elective" and the clinical coordinator for the Austin/Temple/Waco region.
McIntyre provides leadership for clinical and pharmacy practice program development, post-Pharm.D. clinical training programs, and the Pharm.D. experiential program. He serves as the administrative liaison to the cooperative pharmacy programs.
Pope is an advocate for Community Pharmacy Practice Residencies, developing innovative practice settings, and outcomes from those practices.
Rascati's research interests include economic and outcomes evaluations for several disease states as well as for pharmacy services.
Ms. Riddings-Myhra oversees the state-wide senior internship program and supervises placement activities for senior students. She also serves as an academic advisor to pharmacy students.
Rush's areas of interest include the clinical and patient-based care aspects of community care practice. These include MTM, DSM, immunizations and screenings.
Dr. Schnyer's research interests include evaluating complementary medical practices, especially Chinese medicine in the development of an integrated model of care to treat chronic complex, and stress related disorders.

Shepherd's research interests lie in the major areas of the economics of pharmacy services, pharmaceutical marketing, importation of pharmaceuticals, prescription drug diversion, counterfeit medications, managed care pharmacy and pharmacoeconomics.
Strassels' research interests include understanding the epidemiology and economics of acute pain, cancer-related pain, palliative care, and pain at the end of life, as well as how outcomes research informs health policy.
Dr. Temple is a Course Coordinator for Introduction to Patient Care and the associated Care and Respect for the Elderly (CARE) Program. Additionally, she is the Inpatient Coordinator for Advanced Health Outcomes & Pharmacy Practice Experiences, Austin/Temple/Waco region.
Wilson's current major interests are in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, and the management of clinical programs.
