Research & Teaching Interests

Health care costs and patient outcomes continue to be important topics for patients, healthcare providers, plan sponsors, governmental agencies, and other organizations. Interest often centers on controlling healthcare services utilization and expenditures and improving quality of care and patient outcomes. Dr. Lawson's current research activities focus on factors related to the utilization and costs of prescription medications and other healthcare services. In addition, he is involved in research to evaluate educational outcomes.

His primary teaching interests include health care systems in the Pharm.D. program and health care systems, research methods, and data analysis in the graduate program.
