The College of Pharmacy has developed innovative Cooperative Pharmacy Programs in partnership with two components of The University of Texas System. These partnerships are designed to address specific needs within each community and to promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education, research and service. The success of each partnership is a result of a shared vision, mutually beneficial goals and an adequate foundation of financial and administrative support. The Cooperative Pharmacy Programs, developed with the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Texas-Pan American, offer a six-year curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The programs are designed to encourage high school students to consider pharmacy as a career through an early admission process and to offer students the opportunity to complete four years of the six-year pre-pharmacy and pharmacy curriculum in their home region.
