Assessment Descriptions

Milestone Exams

Purpose: to assess students' retention of capstone knowledge from required coursework at the end of each year in the Pharm.D. curriculum.  The P1 and P2 milestone exams are formative (i.e., low-stakes) in nature and therefore serve as diagnostic tools to determine students' strengths and deficiencies in different courses.  However, the P3 and P4 milestone exams are summative (i.e., high-stakes) in nature, and students must demonstrate proficiency in order to continue in the program.
