Each of the two honorees was presented a plaque and a cash award.

The March/April issue of Alcalde, the magazine of the Texas Exes, featured profiles on all TETA faculty recipients. In the article, Karboski described his teaching experiences.

"I am fortunate that I get to teach in a number of environments," he said. "The best thing about lecturing in the large auditoriums is the energy that is generated by all the students. You can feel it when you walk into the room. I like to tell stories and give examples during lecture.

"Once in a while, during such a story, I will pause right before the punch line, look up and see all the students waiting and think, 'Išve got 'em.' Those are special moments," he continued.
