The President's Message By Carol Reagan

The official purpose of The University of Texas College of Pharmacy Alumni Association is "to promote and support the College of Pharmacy" and "to recognize achievements of and provide assistance to students, faculty, and graduates of the College of Pharmacy."

Alumni fulfill these goals in numerous ways including:

• Becoming mentors and preceptors for students and new graduates (approximately 300 graduates participate in this program),
• Providing money for scholarships ($190,00 in academic year 2001-02),
• Participating in Explore UT to recruit new students,
• Conducting interviews of prospective pharmacy students, and
• Recognizing outstanding faculty, graduates, students, and friends of the UT College of Pharmacy with awards such as the Sheffield Outstanding Alumnus Award, the Kloesel Preceptor Award, and the Best Friend Award.

Working with the College of Pharmacy is the lowest-paying, most highly rewarding job I've ever had. How often are you certain that you're affecting the future? I would invite each of you to join us and reap the benefits!
