The College of Pharmacy Convocation ceremony for Pharm.D. degree candidates will take place Friday, May 22, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held in the Bass Concert Hall at 23rd Street and Robert Dedman Drive. This is located just north of the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Football Stadium. Guests do not need tickets to attend the ceremony. Doors to the theater will open at 8 a.m.
Dean Victor A. Yanchick will be the 2009 commencement speaker for the UT College of Pharmacy. Dr. Yanchick started his academic career at UT, and at the time he left UT to become the Dean at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy he was Associate Dean and Professor. He is currently Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University and is the current President of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
Parking will be available in the San Jacinto Parking Garage at 2401 San Jacinto Boulevard or the Manor Parking Garage at 2017 Robert Dedman Drive. UT parking garages will be free to the public both Friday and Saturday.
The University-wide commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 23, 8:00 p.m., on the South Terrace of the Main Building.
