The College of Pharmacy celebrated the diversity of its community on March 2 with the second annual Celebration of Culture.
The event was sponsored by the Cultural Proficiency Committee (CPC), Pharmacy Council, and the Pharmacy Graduate Student Association with financial support from Walgreens.
College students, faculty and staff were invited to participate in the event that featured native clothing, music, arts and cultural displays as well as samplings of food from around the world. The event took place in the second floor lobby of the South Pharmacy Building from noon to 2 p.m.
The CPC is under the leadership of Dr. Carolyn Brown, professor of pharmacy administration. The group works to facilitate the college's capacity to create and maintain an environment that promotes and values diversity of people, beliefs and ideas.
More than 200 people participated in the college's second cultural awareness day.
