- The Center for Advancement of Research and Education in Infectious Diseases

This Center is comprised of clinicians and researchers who have a keen interest and dedication to the study of infectious diseases. The goals of the center are to increase our understanding of infectious
diseases pharmacotherapy through laboratory-based, translational, and clinical research; to foster clinical and graduate research training; and to enhance knowledge of healthcare providers in the community
through continuing education programs.
- Center for Molecular and Cellular Toxicology

The CMCT fosters interdisciplinary research collaborations and provides the prerequisite
ancillary research infrastructure to support
interdisciplinary graduate training programs. Faculty
participating in the Center therefore represent a wide variety of scientific disciplines:
Pharmacology, Toxicology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Neuroscience, Nutrition,
Biochemistry, Chemistry, Marine Biology,
and Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Center for Pharmacoeconomic
Studies

This Center is comprised of faculty and researchers who have a keen interest in clinical,
humanistic, and economic outcomes research.
The purpose of the Center is to conduct pharmacoeconomic research, to
assist others in this area, and to provide educational programs on
pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research.
- Drug Dynamics Institute

The goal of the DDI is to cultivate the discovery and development of drugs useful in the
treatment of human disease.

Drug Information Service

The Drug Information Service (DIS), located in the Briscoe Medical Library, was established over 25 years ago as
an academic and consultative endeavor of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy and the University of Texas
Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The mission of the DIS is to promote optimal patient drug therapy
through the provision of accurate, comprehensive, evidence-based drug information to health care providers.
- Institute for Neuroscience

The purpose of The Institute is to serve as a campus-wide
umbrella organization for research and
teaching activities related to the neurosciences.
- NIH Biotechnology Training Grant
- Provides graduate students with an
interdisciplinary education in the area of Molecular Sensors and Nanobiotechnology, a rapidly growing segment of
industry and academic and national laboratory research.
- Waggoner Center for
Alcohol and Addiction Research

The objective is to create the world's premier center for alcohol and
addiction research, thereby developing solutions for the prevention and cure
of alcoholism.
