Honors Program - Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy Honors
Program, UT Austin

Students in the honors program meet in a weekly Honors Seminar designed to give them a forum to exchange ideas with one another as well as to interact with leaders in pharmaceutical industry, research and pharmacy practice. Distinguished pharmacy faculty members visit the sessions to outline their research while faculty members outside of the College but representing disciplines affiliated with pharmacy discuss their interest and how they intertwine with pharmacy. In addition, clinicians speak about the delivery of new medication to patients.

Each honors student also is given an opportunity to present his or her research project to a varied audience whose members might consist of fellow honors students, interested pharmacy students, pharmacy faculty members and other invited guest from the academic as well as non-academic communities. Honors students will be encouraged both to publish their project in a refereed journal and present their work at meetings of national organizations such as the American Pharmaceutical Association, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist, and the American Society of Hospital Pharmacist.
