College of Pharmacy Spotlight, UT Austin

College plans Science Safari for Explore UT 2005

Explore UT Pharmacy Poster The College of Pharmacy joins the rest of The University of Texas at Austin in extending the welcome mat to the greater Texas community through Explore UT 2005.

The annual University-wide open house, scheduled for March 5, 2005, is expected to draw thousands for an up-close look at the workings of the flagship university of the UT System.

A wealth of College events are planned designed to attract prospective pharmacy students as well as the community in general.
Activities for all ages begin at 11 a.m. and run through 4 p.m. and include presentations such as the hazards of herbal medications, compounding your own products, understanding the impact of illicit drugs, and participating in the College’s version of one of Hollywood’s hottest game shows, all around the theme of Science Safari.

In addition, prospective students can attend sessions to guide them through the College of Pharmacy application process and gain insight into the wealth of career options available to pharmacy graduates.

In addition to pharmacy activities, the day offers participants an opportunity to explore the 40 acres including the chance to get a kick out of a bionic leg, soar the clouds in a flight simulator, and beam in on laser applications in medicine.
