Other Endowed Scholarships

To be eligible to receive one of the following scholarships (minimum award of $1,000), the student must meet the requirements outlined in first paragraph of this document. Additional criteria may apply for some scholarship awards listed below. Please review the following information carefully to determine eligibility. The following Endowed Scholarships have been established to benefit students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy:

Pete Allen Scholarship
Established in 2007 by Mrs. Waltraud D. Allen and Katherine Allen, J.D. to honor their husband and father, the late Pete Allen. This scholarship is for a student with financial need.

C. M. Armstrong
Established by the Estate of the late C. Moody Armstrong of San Antonio, Texas for a student with financial need.

Renee Balas Bullard
Established by Steve and Linda Balas of Eagle Lake, Texas, in memory of their late daughter, a 1994 graduate of the College of Pharmacy.

Capital Area Pharmacy Association
Established by members of the Capital Area Pharmacy Association of Austin, Texas to benefit students who are nearing completion of their degree program and are active members of The University of Texas Academy of Students of Pharmacy (UT-ASP).

Davila Family Endowed Scholarship in Pharmacy
Established by the Davila Family to support students in Pharmacy who are from San Antonio or the South Texas border.

Generations Club
Established by the Generations Club of the College of Pharmacy to benefit students who have a parent or grandparent (living or deceased) who is a graduate of the U.T. College of Pharmacy. Applicants must have maintained a 3.00 GPA in required pharmacy courses. Preference is given to students who are in the final year of their degree program.

Bob and Mary Gude Endowed Scholarship in Pharmacy
Established by members of the Pharmacy Freedom Fund to honor Bob and Mary Gude of Ft. Worth for students who wish to enter community pharmacy.

Ron J. Geiser
Established by Ron Geiser of Burleson, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Z. Laurel
Established by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Z. Laurel of Laredo, Texas to benefit students from Laredo or South Texas.

Lighthouse Drugstore of Port Isabel
Established by Jack and Roberta Harris of Houston, Texas to benefit students from the Port Isabel area with secondary preference being given to Texas high school graduates.

Mexican-American Association of Pharmacy Students
Established by efforts of Dr. Rueben A. Gonzales and student members of the Mexican-American Association of Pharmacy Students to benefit students who are active members of the association.

Mom's Pharmacy Scholarship honoring Elena, Veronica and Johnny Guerra
Established by Lydia Aguilera, Pharm.D. to honor her children this scholarship is to benefit students who matriculate to the University of Texas at Austin from the cooperative program at the University of Texas-Pan American.

College of Pharmacy Alumni Association
Established by the College of Pharmacy Alumni Association and The University of Texas Pharmaceutical Foundation through contributions from alumni and friends of the College.

Pharmacy Class of 1992-93
Established by the 1992-93 "Centennial Class" of the College of Pharmacy.

Gilbert R. Satterwhite Memorial
Established by family and friends of the late Gilbert Satterwhite of Fort Worth, Texas, a 1978 graduate of the College of Pharmacy.

The Josefina Lesvia Falcon Undergraduate Scholarship Fund
Established by the estate of Josefina Lesvia Falcon, a 1952 graduate of the College, this scholarship is for students who maintain their permanent residence in Texas at a location within 180 miles of Hebronville, Texas, including the cities, among others, of Laredo, Brownsville, Corpus Christi and San Antonio both at the time of their enrollment as an undergraduate student begins at the University of Texas at Austin college of Pharmacy and also throughout the 150 day period immediately prior to enrollment. All candidates for this scholarship must have financial need.

The Hubert and Darlyn Jung and Elroy and Gail Tschirhart Scholarship in Pharmacy
Established in 2005 by Toby Tschirhart, RPh. and Sharon Tschirhart, Pharm.D. to honor their parents.

Roman Family
Established by Mary Evelyn Hayes of Bryan, Texas, in honor of several members of the Roman family who are graduates of the College of Pharmacy for a student with financial need.

Sifuentes Scholarship
To award an annual undergraduate scholarship. Established by Marina Sifuentes, a 1976 graduate of the college.

Glenn Smith Memorial (Links to Word Document)
Established by the family of the late Glenn Smith, the Lacy Clifton family, and friends in memory of the former executive vice president of Behrens Inc., Waco, Texas. This scholarship partially covers tuition, fees, books, and the cost of room and board on campus. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a Texas resident; has completed 29 credit hours of required pharmacy courses; has a GPA of at least 2.50 in required pharmacy courses; has plans to remain in Texas to practice pharmacy and has aspirations to be an independent pharmacy owner.

Lorene Soape
Established by Wilma Erb of Corpus Christi, Texas, in memory of her sister, a 1949 graduate of the College of Pharmacy.

Texas Pharmacy Foundation Scholarship
Established in 2007 by the Texas Pharmacy Foundation this scholarship shall be used to support students entering their second (P2) or third (P3) professional year in the College of Pharmacy with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in required courses. Students should be selected on the basis of need and potential to become leaders for Texas pharmacy. Recipients must be student members of the Texas Pharmacy Association.
