Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, The University of Texas College of Pharmacy is able to provide significant scholarship and loan support to students. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and registered for pharmacy courses during the semester in which the award is made. In addition, the student must be in the process of completing at least the second semester of the first professional year at the time of submitting an application, and in most cases, must have a minimum grade point average. Scholarship recipients are selected by the College of Pharmacy Financial Aid Committee, and all decisions are final. Selection may be based on financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and/or other criteria.
To apply, the student must complete two forms:
Special Note: The on-line scholarship application is opened in late December of each year. Professional sequence students should watch for an e-mail in December with complete instructions on the application process.
The College of Pharmacy Financial Aid Committee takes several factors into consideration when reviewing Financial Aid Applications including, but not limited to, the following: anticipated graduation date, academic achievement, the personal statement, involvement in student organizations within the College and/or University, employment, estimated income and expenses, and unmet need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services. Recipients are notified of selection during the summer months and disbursements are made after the 12th class day of the semester. Scholarships are awarded once a year, though actual disbursements may be divided equally between the fall and spring semester.
Scholarship are awarded as funds are available (i.e. every scholarship listed below is not necessarily awarded each year). Specific requirements for particular scholarships are described below. Additional application materials may be required for some scholarship awards. Please review all information carefully to determine eligibility.
