The next AAPS Student Chapter meeting will be December 7 @ 11:30am in PHR 3.110. Membership is not required to attend!
11:30am to 12pm: AAPS Student Chapter business (general overview of AAPS for new/potential members, visiting scientists in Spring 2011, estimate head count for trip to
pharmaceutical company in San Antonio, summary of key points from AAPS Annual Meeting, etc.)
12pm: A special presentation/discussion by Dr. Janet Walkow: Today, women scientists and engineers earn nearly half of doctorate degrees and 60% of Masters/Bachelors
degrees, marking a significant increase over the past thirty years. Women excel in the classroom, yet academic achievements have not mitigated the gender gap. Dr. Walkow
will address issues, and possible solutions, for women in academia, industry and entrepreneurial endeavors.
