should be provided to all members.

Spring discussion sessions are more difficult to recruit facilitators for, so if you can help in the spring, Arlyn would really appreciate it!
Arlyn has a guidebook for all incoming facilitators. Contains info such as:

Idea for 1-hour facilitator training session:
Group Dynamics: How to create the best discussion environment and bring out the best in each student
Action : Prepare letter to promote student interest in facilitator opportunities
By-laws
Tara has drafted a revised, updated, consolidated set of by-laws
Proposed changes must be approved by all members, including faculty
Action : Submit your copy of the bylaws, including any recommended changes or comments, to the PLS box by Friday, March 30 th
New Member Selection Modernization
Rubric underwent proposed amendments and additions by Tara
Categories distinguished:
"Community Service outside of the college"
"Regional and National Involvement"
"Highlights from personal statement"
"Highlights from recommendation letter"
Need to assign point values to each category and determine point cutoff
Must be approved by all members, including faculty
Action : Fill out your copy of the rubric as if you were applying to PLS, write down any concerns or recommendations you have, then submit to PLS box by Friday, March 30 th
Possibly limit # of students in PLS (maximum 5% of whole student body)
