Meeting held on November 16, 2006
- Meeting called to order at 12:35 p.m.
- Spoil-a-Faculty Awards:
- Winners were Dr. Christian Whitman, Dr. Alan Combs, and Renee Acosta
- Award was presented to Renee Acosta during the meeting:
- MRM Report – John Blanchett
- 27 chapter members attended
- Our chapter received praises from APhA, sponsors, and other pharmacy
schools
- SPIN had an outstanding presentation
- 2 resolutions were passed
- big thanks goes out to Chris Nguyen
- Dr. Lawson spoke about MRM events
- Committee Report – Kunal Patel
- Operation Diabetes
- America’s Walk for Diabetes
- Nov. 18, 9am-12pm at Fiesta Gardens Park
- Meet at HEB tent at 8:45am
- You do not have to bring anything unless you want lunch at the event
- Operation Immunization
- Flu Shot booklets were distributed
- Flu Shot clinic on 11/16, 12-4pm, $5
- CPR course online, $20, for those who took immunization course at San
Antonio and those who need refresher
- Heartburn Awareness
- Event on 11/19, Walgreens #4458, located at William Cannon and Brodie
- Time: 10am-2pm
- Vial of Life
- Event on 11/18, from 11am-3:30
- Location: Wal-Mart on 710 E. Ben White and on US Hwy 290 West
- SPRN
- Stress relief breakfast on Dec. 5, 8:30-9:30
- Individual bags with signed message inside will be passed out
- IPSF
- Committee meeting on 11/21 in LRC 3.114 B at 12pm
- Annual Meeting in Atlanta – Dawn Pogue
- When: March 16-19, 2007
- Apply now! 60 stipends available
- Applications due Nov. 28 in Dawn’s mailbox
- Cost is $450 – covers room, registration, and part of flight
- State on your application whether you will be in Austin before flying
out for meeting and if not in Austin, state where you will be coming from
– this will help with planning on day of flight
- Commitment to going to meeting should be finalized by mid-January
