12CSP015 - JCD - AHU 5W & 7W Replacement

Project Summary

The abbreviated Summary of Work is as follows:

AHU 5W & 7W Replacement

Removal and replacement of two (2) existing air handling units (AC-5W & AC-7W) located in the basement of Jester Dormitory with two new units AHU -5W and AHU-7W and one new outside air pretreatment unit OAU-7W. Mechanical work includes Demo and installation of equipment and ductwork in the mechanical room.  DDC controls for the AHU’s. Electrical work includes demo of existing electrical for wiring of new starters for the new AHU’s and VFDs for AHU -5W, AHU-7W and OAU-7W. Life Safety requires the installation of smoke detectors in the supply and return ducts.

Base Bid is to provide a fully operational HVAC system including equipment, related electrical, sheet metal, piping, etc.  Time Schedule is based on the equipment being on site by June 11, 2012 and installation operational with beneficial use by August 3, 2012.

The Contractor shall be responsible for disassembling and re-assembling the equipment as required for ingress into the mechanical room. Equipment may be shipped in multiple sections depending on best container method as determined by the manufacturer.

Phasing will be required to minimize down time for respective zones on the chilled water system.

Demo and replace chilled water and hot water piping and add new piping and control valves. Provide DDC control of the chilled water control valve and temperature sensor for each AHU.

Install Return air smoke detectors on floors G – 8.    

The general Construction Budget for the project is approximately:

 $2,565,000.00 to $2,907,000.00
