14CON006 - ROW - Dock Replacement

Project Summary

The abbreviated Summary of Work is as follows:

The existing dock consists of an aluminum ramp (36 feet x 14 feet), a Short Floating Dock Section (40 feet x 15 feet), and a Long Floating Dock Section (122 feet x 15 feet). This replacement project includes design and complete replacement of the Short Floating Dock Section and the Long Floating Dock Section with new material specified. Removal of existing Dock and Dock Replacement installation must be completed between July 5, 2014 and August 15, 2014. The dock shall be constructed of modular sections: 1.) The Short Floating Dock Section shall be composed of two (2) or more modular sections with rubber expansion joint material between modules; 2.) The Long Floating Dock Section shall be composed of six (6) or more modular sections with rubber expansion join material between modules; 3.) Top of dock to rest 4 inches to 6 inches above the water line. Each modular perimeter frame shall be hot-dipped galvanized steel. Floatation shall be completely encapsulated expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam to support a live load of 7,500 pounds without going below the water line. Stringers shall be Composite Deck Boards, 1-1/2 inch thick x 5-1/2 inches at 16 inches o.c. Deck boards shall be Composite Deck Boards, 1 inch thick x 5-1/2 inches x 16 feet (full length) with embossed simulated wood, non-skid surface pattern. Composite perimeter skirting on each section – clad the perimeter of the dock with new rubber similar to that in place on the existing dock. Add cleats for the coaching boats in the same locations as they are now. The dock design shall be dock and floatation assembly with a maximum free board of 5-1/2 inches. The Design Build Contractor shall be responsible for removal of existing Dock Sections. The Existing Dock may be salvaged or demolished or a combination of both. Provide alternate pricing for associated costs or credits in the proposal.

The general Construction Budget for the project is approximately: $100,000.00 to $200,000.00.
