300 block of East 24th Street

Occurred on 9-19-01 at 11:37 a.m.

Unauthorized Use of State Issued Handicapped Placard: A UT subject was found in possession of and using a state issued handicapped placard that was not issued to the subject.

400 block of East 23rd Street

Occurred on 9-25-01 between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Theft: Two license plates were stolen from a vehicle. Loss value: $15.00.

Parking Lot 67, 200 East Jester Circle

Occurred on 9-25-01 between 10:25 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was issued a criminal trespass warning after being found soliciting by placing flyers on vehicles.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-25-01 at 6:10 p.m.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT subject was found in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Roberts Hall Dormitory, 300 East 21st Street

Discovered on 9-25-01 at 8:25 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Plastic and paper were burned in a third floor restroom. Damage value: $20.00.

BEWARE

Current Fraud/Con Scheme On Campus: Southwestern Bell, Telecom, Pacific Bell, MCI, Bell Atlantic and GTE have confirmed the following fraud/con scheme. Victim receives a call from an individual identifying themselves as telephone service technicians who are conducting a test on telephone lines. They state that to complete the test, victim should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up. By doing this, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number. This scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons.
