Art Building, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 3-4-02 at 6:00 p.m. and 3-6-02 at 2:00 p.m.

Theft: A locked locker outside 4.220 was broken into and two plastic boxes containing art supplies and blue Dickie overalls were stolen. Loss value $1,000.00.

Battle Hall, #1 West Mall

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 1:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in an area on the 1st floor that was restricted to UT personnel only. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Brackenridge Apartments, 3501 Lake Austin Blvd.

Occurred on 3-5-02 between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: Several scratches were found on a maroon 1998 4-door Suzuki that was parked on the south side of the maintenance shop in an unmarked grass Parking Lot. Repair cost: $100.00.

Brackenridge Apartments, 3501 Lake Austin Blvd.

Reported on 3-6-02 at 4:15 p.m.

Credit Card Abuse: A credit card was issued to an unknown subject in a UT student's name that resulted in over $1,400 in illegal charges.

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Building, 200 East Dean Keeton Street

Occurred on 3-5-02 between 11:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

Theft: Cash was removed from a wallet that had been left unattended in a west computer lab. Loss value: $35.00.

John B. Connally Center for Justice, 726 East 25th Street

Occurred on 3-6-02 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Theft: A silver Nokia cellular telephone was taken from an unsecured storage closet located in an unsecured office on the 4th floor. Loss value: $90.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 3-7-02 between 9:10 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.

Theft: A purse was stolen after it was left unattended on a table located behind a black curtain on the south side of the arena concourse. Purse was later recovered in a men's restroom and only a bank debit card and Texas ID were missing.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred between 3-5-02 at 2:30 p.m. and 3-7-02 at 7:00 a.m.

Theft: A VX Palm Pilot and a leather case containing insurance and credit cards was stolen from a locked office. Loss value $500.00.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 3-6-02 at 10:13 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A male UT student was seen entering and exiting a women's restroom several times. Subject was in possession of a tape recorder and stated that he was entering the restroom blindfolded to record female reactions. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

1700 IH-35, West Frontage

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 8:50 p.m.

Assault: A non-UT subject, while trying to board a school bus after a high school basketball game, was repeatedly hit on the head by several subjects. Subject was wearing the school mascot costume and was attacked by several subjects from a rival school.

Mary E. Gearing Hall, 200 West 24th Street

Reported on 3-7-02.

Graffiti: A black marker was used to write words and draw figures on several walls and doors on the 2nd floor. Drawings involved upside down crosses. Words included "fashion, demons, sex, rape is cool, 666." Repair cost: $300.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 5:20 p.m.

Theft: An unknown subject grabbed a pizza from the Jestapizza concession and left the area without paying for it. Subject was described as a white male, UT student age, 5'10", 150 lbs, brown hair, wearing a short sleeve t-shirt and khaki pants. Subject has been seen in the Jester West area several times and is believed to be a resident of Jester West. Loss value: $5.00.

Parking Lot 11, 2200 Speedway

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 2:40 p.m.

Theft: A stolen F11 parking permit was found in a vehicle being operated by a UT student.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred between 3-7-02 at 8:30 p.m. and 3-8-02 at 11:03 a.m.

Suspicious Activity: A UT staff member reported that someone had entered a secured office on the 2nd floor and had attempted to access a password-protected computer.

1800 Red River

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 8:50 p.m.

Solicitation: A non-UT subject was identified selling t-shirts outside the Frank Erwin Center during the UIL basketball tournament.

2100 Speedway

Occurred on 3-6-02 at 8:50 p.m.

Failure to Identify: A non-UT subject gave a false name when stopped for a traffic violation. Subject was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant.

21st and Speedway

Occurred on 3-7-02 at 5:40 p.m.

False Report to Police Officer: A UT student reported being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle through the intersection of 21st and Speedway. It was later determined that reporting person had fallen off their bicycle and fabricated the story as an excuse for being late to work.

2500 University Avenue

Occurred on 3-2-02 between 12:05 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Leaving The Scene Collision: A tan 2000 Toyota was parked along the west curb line when the left rear bumper was damaged. Repair cost: $600.00.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 3-6-02 at 12:20 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT juvenile transient with a dog was found sleeping on a 3rd floor couch in an area restricted to student, faculty and staff. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Whitaker Fields, 51st Street and Guadalupe

Occurred on 3-6-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Burglary of Vehicle: The front passenger window was broken out of a blue 1998 Toyota that was parked in the north Parking Lot. A white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black leather wallet containing assorted credit cards were stolen from the front seat. Loss value: $80.00.

200 East 21st Street

Occurred between 2-2-02 at 11:00 p.m. and 2-23-02 at 2:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The right mirror and mirror housing were found broken and scratch marks were found on the right front door of a silver Pontiac Trans-AM that was parked along the curb line. Damage value: $200.00.
