Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, 1900 Red River
Occurred on 3-21-02 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00p.m.
Automobile Theft: A gray 1982 Mercedes 4-door was stolen from the north service drive. At approximately 3:45 pm a subject was reported on the north side of the Jamail Texas Swimming Center, looking inside cars and trying car door handles. Subject was described as a white male, ruddy complexion, 5'8" to 5'10" tall, thin build, late 40's. Subject was last seen wearing a white ball cap, dark blue jacket and dirty blue jeans. Subject had been pushing a black 26" bicycle and had been bumming cigarettes in front of Recreational Sports Center. Loss value: $3,000.
Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue
Occurred between 3-19-02 at 4:48 a.m. and 3-20-02 at 4:19 a.m.
Harassing Communication: Several annoying anonymous telephone calls were received at a second floor dormitory room. Offender was described as a male.
Parking Lot 16, 2400 East 24th Street
Occurred on 3-21-02 at 3:50 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: Two juvenile non-UT subjects were skateboarding on a newspaper vending machine. Repair value: $15.00.
San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street
Occurred on 3-20-02 between 12:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Theft: A backpack was left in a south tower ground floor study lounge with the understanding that an acquaintance of the owner would watch it. When owner returned acquaintance was gone. A CD case containing 68 CD's, were stolen from the backpack. Loss value: $204.00.
Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 3-21-02 between 7:50 a.m. and 8:09 a.m.
Suspicious Activity: On at least two occasions, a subject sat down in the lobby area, in front of a female, placed a piece of paper over his lap and began to make lewd movements under the paper. Whenever a male walked by, subject would remove his hand from under the paper. Subject is described as a black male, 30 to 35 years of age, bald, stocky build.
300 West Inner Campus Drive
Occurred on 3-21-02 at 6:30 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: A subject was observed walking along, swinging a briefcase at passing cars. One passing vehicle had its passenger side mirror broken off its mount. Subject was last seen entering either Parlin or Calhoun. Subject was described as a white male, 6' tall, wearing a dark suit (no other description). Repair value: $50.00.
