Art Building, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 4-16-02 at 12:10 p.m.

Attempted Criminal Mischief: A UTPD Guard stopped an unknown subject from defacing a piece of art that looked like a blackboard. Subject left the area before officers arrived. Subject was described as a white male, 5'11", heavy build, light brown hair and 30 to 40 years of age. Subject was last seen wearing a light pink shirt and light colored pants.

Art Building, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 4-15-02 at 6:00 p.m. and 4-16-02 at 9:40 a.m.

Theft: An Apple Pro computer mouse was stolen from a first floor computer lab. The mouse was connected to a computer named "Peach." Loss value: $55.00.

Parking Garage 3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Discovered on 4-16-02 at 3:30 p.m.

Graffiti: Black and blue spray paint was used to write two gang-style signs on the east exterior wall of the building. Repair cost: $300.00.

Performing Arts Center, 510 East 23rd Street

Occurred on 4-16-02 7:50 p.m.

Unauthorized Solicitation: A non-UT subject was found in front of the building's ticket box office trying to resell tickets to the current performance. Subject was given a verbal criminal trespass warning.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 4-16-02 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

Theft: A backpack was stolen out of a locker that was located in the first floor weight room. The owner did not spend twenty-five cents to activate the security lock. Backpack was described as very worn, unknown brand that was black and green. Backpack contained assorted credit cards, Star Tac cellular telephone, and a Physical Geography book by Paul Tingay. Loss value: $190.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-16-02 between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Graffiti: Red paint was used to write words on two walls inside a 2nd floor men's restroom. Repair cost: $45.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-16-02 at 10:20 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist An Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found in the Governor's Room under the influence of alcohol and in possession of unauthorized alcohol. Subject refused to leave the building when requested to do so by UT staff. Subject was given a written criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency traffic warrant.

Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street

Occurred on 4-16-02 between 1:45 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a classroom on the 2nd floor. The wallet was last seen in the front pocket of a backpack when a UT student sat down to take a test. The backpack was placed under the seat. The wallet was found missing shortly after leaving the classroom. Wallet contained assorted ID and credit cards. Loss value: $5.00.

2000 Block Speedway

Occurred on 4-16-02 at 6:20 p.m.

Unauthorized Solicitation: Three UT students were found soliciting credit card applications. Subjects were given verbal criminal trespass warnings.

23rd Street and Trinity

Occurred on 4-16-02 at 3:58 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A non-UT subject was identified after it was reported that he kept growling at passing pedestrians. It was determined that subject was not an immediate threat to anyone.

400 Block East 23rd Street

Occurred on 4-16-02 at 7:10 p.m.

Assist An Outside Agency: A UT student was stopped by UTPD for a moving motor vehicle traffic violation. Subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency theft warrant.
