2600 Speedway

Occurred on 6-12-02 at 2:45 a.m.

Robbery: A UT staff member was walking northbound on Speedway at Dean Keeton. After the staff member crossed Dean Keeton, three male subjects approached him. Two subjects stood behind him and third subject stood to his left. The third subject asked for money to make a telephone call. When the staff member said he did not have any money, he was pushed to the ground and punched by the subjects. The staff member had his brown wallet containing assorted ID's and a Samsung R255 cellular telephone stolen from him. The three subjects then ran to a dark blue or black vehicle that was parked at Dean Keeton and Speedway. Subjects got into the vehicle and drove westbound on Dean Keeton. Vehicle displayed a possible partial license plate number of 250ZX - or 250ZY -. The third subject was described as a Hispanic male, 17 to 18 years of age, 5'8" and 150 pounds. Subject was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants. There is no current description on the two subjects that had been standing behind the victim. The Austin Police Department had two similar incidents on the date of this offense that involved a similar car and license plate. One incident occurred on 6th street and the second occurred on Guadalupe at 5th Street. Loss value: $75.00.

Whitaker Fields, 5100 Guadalupe

Occurred on 6-11-02 at 8:40 p.m.

Disturbance: A UT Intramural Field staff member was charged at by two large dogs while patrolling Field #10 in a Cushman cart. The dogs while growling and barking chased the staff member in the cart for approximately five minutes. The owner of the dogs observed this but took no action to restrain his dogs. The owner and the dogs then left the area. UT Police stopped the owner, a non-UT subject, with the dogs in the north Parking Lot. The dogs charged the officer. It was only after ordering the owner several times to restrain the dogs that the owner did comply. Owner was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
