Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found storing personal property in the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Main Building, #1 South Mall
Occurred on 6-27-02 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Theft: An Elvis Costello dual pack CD and jewel case was stolen from an unlocked cabinet in an open office area (un-securable) on the eighth floor. Loss value: $15.00.
Main Building, #1 South Mall
Occurred between 6-20-02 at 12:01 p.m. and 6-24-02 at 8:00 a.m.
Theft: A hardback book titled The Secret Language of Birthdays was stolen from a cubicle in an open office area (not securable) on the eighth floor. Loss value: $25.00.
Parking Lot 80, 1900 Red River
Occurred on 6-26-02 between 8:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The passenger window was broken on a 1992 Jeep Wrangler, and a dark brown leather tote purse was stolen from under the passenger seat. Purse contained cosmetics and three rolls of film. Two twenty dollar bills, visible in a coin holder, were not taken. Loss value: $20.00. Repair value: $150.00.
Parking Lot 108, 1500 Red River
Occurred on 6-27-02 at 5:00 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: Two unknown subjects forced their way past a Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center security guard who was monitoring a security point around the Circus' animal compound. The male subject stated that he was with "animal control." Both subjects left the area prior to officer's arrival. Subject number one was described as a white male, 5'9" with a mustache. Subject was last seen wearing a "detective" badge, a handgun on his belt, a striped shirt and dark pants. Second subject was described as a "slim blond white female" (no other description.)
J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway
Theft: A personal checkbook was stolen from a sixth floor office which is left unsecured during regular business hours. Checkbook was stolen between 5-29-02 and 6-7-02. Between 6-7-02 and 6-9-02 six checks were passed at several local stores totaling $1,034.00. The checkbook was not discovered missing until 6-23-02.
Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 6-27-02 at 8:07 a.m.
Assault on Public Servant / Evading Detention: UT Police were called after a staff member observed a subject (later identified as non-UT) in a second floor break area. The subject fit the description of a perpetrator wanted in numerous indecent exposure cases within the building over the last several months. The first responding officer attempted to stop the subject but was pushed over into a wall. The subject ran from the area but was later found by officers, hiding in a second floor women's restroom.
Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe
Occurred between 6-26-02 at 7:00 p.m. and 6-27-02 at 4:25 p.m.
Graffiti: White spray paint was used to draw two gang-style inscriptions on the east exterior wall. Removal cost: $100.00.
