Batts Hall, #3 South Mall

Occurred on 7-25-02 at 7:20 p.m.

Suspicious Person: An unknown subject was panhandling for food from a student group holding a function located on the first floor. Subject was described as: White male, shaved head, and last seen wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts. Subject was last seen carrying a purple backpack as he was exiting the westside exterior doors.

Calhoun Hall, #4 South Mall

Occurred on 7-25-02 11:10 p.m.

Suspicious Activity: A UT student was observed removing University owned equipment (computer, message board and monitor) from the building. Subject was loading the equipment into his personally owned vehicle.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504-A Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 7-26-02 at 6:20 a.m.

Suspicious Activity: An unknown subject approached the Austin American-Statesman newspaper delivery person and requested him to assist her in loading a microwave oven and washing machine being stored under a staircase. Subject was described as: Hispanic female, 5'4," thin build and was last seen wearing a dark colored t-shirt. Subject left in a blue colored 2000-2001 Chevrolet S-10 truck.

J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway

Occurred on 7-25-02 at 8:45 p.m.

Suspicious Person: An unknown subject was observed attempting to gain entry into the building by pulling on the southwest exterior doors. The subject was recognized by UT staff members as the same subject involved in the assault that occurred on 7-19-02 at 8:05 pm. Subject is described as: Black male, 25-30 years of age, over 6' in height, thin build, dark complexion. Subject was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts. Subject had in his possession a black backpack. In both encounters it was noted that the subject was dirty in appearance and "smelled as if he does not bathe."

Occurred on 7-25-02 at 11:50 a.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed sleeping in an area restricted to facility, staff and students. Subject was given a criminal trespass warning for the area.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 7-25-02 at 7:00 p.m.

Disturbance / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed throwing bowling balls across several lanes. When asked to leave the subject refused to do so until he learned the police department had been notified at which time he removed his bowling shoes and throw them across the bowling alley. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning for the area.
