Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, 405 East 23rd Street

Occurred on 8-7-02 between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Theft: A briefcase was left in an unsecured seventh floor office of the University of Texas Club. Assorted credit cards, bank cards, identification cards, personal pictures and other miscellaneous items were stolen from the briefcase. Loss value: Not determined at this time.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred 8-8-02 between 9:40 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

Theft: A wallet was stolen off a bench in the first floor men's locker room. The owner had left his "property" on the bench while he took a shower. When he returned he found only his wallet stolen. Wallet contained ten dollars cash, assorted credit cards and assorted ID's.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 3-7-02 and 7-1-02.

Theft: A Sony Walkman video playback only machine, Model GV-D900, size: 8"x 5"x 2 1/2," was stolen from an unsecured multiple occupancy office on the fifth floor. The machine can playback specialized "mini DV" tapes that are not normally used in video cameras sold at retail stores. Video editors more commonly use this type of tape. Loss value: $1000.00.

John W. Hargis Hall, 1811 Red River

Occurred on 8-8-02 at 7:09 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found "camping" on a bench on the east side of the building. Subject had been issued a prior written trespass warning.

Parking Garage 2, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred on 8-7-02 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Leaving Scene Collision: While parked on level three, a 1998 Corey Acura was struck in the left rear quarter panel by an unknown vehicle that left the scene of the collision. Repair cost: $500.00.

Service Building, 304 East 24th Street

Occurred on 8-8-02 at 12:40 p.m.

Disturbance / Failure to Identify: A UT staff member created a disturbance by becoming emotionally irate and refusing to leave the service window area of Parking and Transportation when he did not receive a parking permit because he did not have proper documentation. When initially approached by UT Police subject refused to identify himself to police upon request.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 8-5-02 between 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Theft: An Olympus D-510 digital camera with blue carrying case was stolen when it was left on a table in an unsecured second floor room. Loss value: $500.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 8-8-02 at 9:00 p.m.

Graffiti: A large purple permanent felt marker was used to write a possible gang member moniker on a wall in the northwest ground level stairwell. Removal cost: $100.00.
