Andrews Dormitory, 2401 Whitis Avenue

Occurred between 8-23-02 at 7:05 p.m. and 8-24-02 at 8:00 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A north side basement window located inside the quadrangle was broken. The window was in an area that is currently under construction. Repair cost: $75.00.

Applied Computational Engineering and Sciences Building (ACES), 201 East 24th Street

Occurred between 8-19-02 at 12 noon and 8-22-02 at 3:00 p.m.

Theft: A blue backpack (no other description) was stolen from a secured sixth floor room. The room is a community office with six cubicles for six students. The backpack contained assorted papers, passport, and a driver's license. Loss value: $5.00.

Occurred on 8-23-02 at 8:40 p.m.

Unauthorized Soliciting / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found to be selling bootlegged "Bow Wow" pictures inside the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Occurred on 8-23-02 at 9:00 p.m.

Unauthorized Soliciting / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found to be selling bootlegged "Bow Wow" pictures inside the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Occurred on 8-23-02 at 6:45 p.m.

Occurred on 8-24-02 at 8:00 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found in the first floor lobby, during a concert, under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-23-02 between 3:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.

Theft: A dark brown leather MiuMiu purse, valued at $300.00 was stolen from an unsecured seventh floor office. The purse had a beige and turquoise trim and was 15"x 6"x 4". Purse contained a silver Palm Pilot M500 organizer, black and silver Nextel cellular telephone and a black leather Nordstrum checkbook style wallet containing several credit cards. Before the credit cards could be canceled there was unauthorized activity on one of the credit cards. A subject was seen loitering around the office at the time of the theft. He was described as a black male, 6' and approximately 20 years of age (no other description.) Loss value: $850.00.

Parking Lot 103, 2100 Comal Street

Occurred between 8-20-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 8:23-02 at 6:15 p.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The right front window was broken out of a 1997 Saturn. The cover plate for the in-car stereo was found on the floorboard and the faceplate for a Pioneer stereo was stolen. Loss value: $350.00. Repair cost: $300.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 8-23-02 at 6:05 p.m.

Failure to Identify / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found on the 4th floor in an area that is reserved for students, faculty and staff. Subject claimed to be a UT student and gave a fictitious name. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 8-23-02 between 3:00 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.

Theft: A dark green and black Eagle River backpack was stolen from an unsecured third floor office. The backpack zips off of a suitcase. The backpack contained assorted papers and six blank bank checks. Loss value: $15.00.

2600 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-24-02 at 9:15 p.m.

Assault: A 1995 white Jeep Cherokee occupied by four to five white males was observed turning onto Whitis from Dean Keeton. The intersection is located on the southwest corner of Kinsolving Dormitory. As the vehicle turned onto Whitis occupants of the vehicle, threw and hit a twelve-year-old girl with a beer bottle and a condom. The vehicles license number was turned over to UT Police for follow-up investigation.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-24-02 at 3:18 p.m.

Consumption of Alcohol By Minor, Public Intoxication, Possession Fictitious State Identification Card: A non-UT subject, under the age of twenty-one, was found passed out in a 1st floor men's restroom due to the consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Subject was only wearing a pair of shorts. His clothes were later found in a fifth floor dormitory room. Subject was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 8-24-02 at 3:35 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a fifth floor couch. Subject had received a prior written criminal trespass warning.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 8-25-02 at 3:25 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found wandering on the first floor. Subject had received a prior written criminal trespass warning.

Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street

Discovered on 8-24-02 at 2:08 a.m.

Graffiti: Yellow spray paint was used to write a two foot by five foot word on the west side of a portable trailer that is located on the south of the building. Removal cost: $100.00.
