Harassment: A UT faculty member received a harassing letter that contained ethnic slurs.
Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street
Occurred on 8-27-02 at 2:37 a.m.
Public Intoxication: A UT student, inside a 12th floor dormitory room, requested EMS assistance after experiencing a racing heart. It was determined the subject had ingested illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms and other narcotic substances within a three hour time span. Subject was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
Parking Garage #1, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 8-27-02 at 2:00 p.m.
Disorderly Conduct: An unknown subject became irate with the eastside parking garage operator after being required to pay for services rendered. Subject left the east gate and drove towards the west exit gate. Subject's license plate was recorded and given to the police for further investigation.
Parking Garage #3, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.
Occurred between 8-26-02 at 3:00 p.m. and 8-27-02 at 1:00 p.m.
Leaving the Scene Collision: The left back quarter panel of a 1996 Dodge truck that was parked on the first level west end was struck by a black Toyota Camry. Repair value $400.00.
Parking Lot 80, 1900 Block Red River
Occurred on 8-26-02 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Leaving the Scene Collision: A 2002, four door, silver Honda Accord parked in the middle of the lot was struck on the left back quarter panel by an unknown tan colored vehicle. Repair valued $500.00.
Parking Lot 104, 1900 Block North IH-35
Occurred between 8-27-02 at 8:00 a.m. and 8-28-02 at 4:38 a.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The driver's side window of a 1999 Chevy truck was discovered broken out. The dashboard was dismantled so that the black JVC AM/FM CD player could be removed. Repair value $300.00. Loss value $180.00.
San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street
Occurred on 8-28-02 at 2:00 a.m.
Harassing Communication: A UT student received both instant computer messages and telephone calls inside her second floor dormitory room from an unknown subject that were both alarming and annoying.
Simkins Hall Dormitory, 2501 San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 8-27-02 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Theft: A silver and blue Motiv mountain bicycle was stolen from the bicycle racks located on the west side of the dormitory. Loss value $200.00.
2200 block San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 8-28-02 at 2:44 a.m.
Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was observed traveling north in a 1991 Ford Escort. The vehicle failed to stop and disregarded the stop sign. During the investigation it was determined the driver had an outstanding outside agency traffic warrant for disregarding a stop sign.
300 block East 22nd Street
Occurred between 8-23-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 8-26-02 at 7:00 a.m.
Theft: A street sign was stolen from the Drama Circle. Sign reads 300 E. 22nd St. in white letters with an orange background. Loss value: $75.00.
2600 block UNIVERSITY AVE.
Occurred between 8-26-02 at 10:00 a.m. and 8-27-02 at 7:00 a.m.
Theft: Both street signs located at the intersection of University Ave and 27th Street were stolen. The first sign read 2600 University Ave in white letters on an orange background. The second sign read 200 W. 27th St. in white letters on an orange background. Loss value: $150.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Discovered on 8-27-02 at 7:45 p.m.
Graffiti: Graffiti written in silver ink was found on the east tile wall of the second floor men's restroom. Repair value: $100.00.
