Brackenridge Hall Dormitory, 303 East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-30-02 at 3:30 p.m.

Possession of a Controlled Substance: Two UT students were found to have been smoking contraband inside a third floor dormitory room.

Carothers Dormitory, 2501 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-30-02 at 1:30 p.m.

Suspicious Persons: A UT student reported two unknown white males were stopping females and asking them where the female dormitories were located. Subjects where attempting to gain entry into the dorms saying they were selling magazines. First subject was described as: White male, 20 years of age, 5'10", thin build wearing baggy clothes and a bandana on his head. Second subject was described as: White male, 20 years of age, 5'10", thin build, wearing earrings and baggy clothes. APD (case number 022420937) also received a similar report at the Scottish Rite Dormitory where both subjects were seen leaving the area in a white panel van with out-of-state license plates.

Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, 405 East 23rd Street

Occurred between 8-31-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 9-1-02 at 3:00 a.m.

Theft: A pair of grey M-frame "Heater" Oakley sunglasses were left unsecured inside a drawer located inside the west side EMS room. Loss value: $75.00.

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 7:30 p.m.

Fictitious Driver's License / Minor in Possession of Alcohol / Criminal Trespass: A UT-student, under the legal age of 21,was stopped by UT Police for violating a stadium regulation. Subject was found in possession of a silver flask containing an alcoholic beverage, and a counterfeit Alabama driver's license. Subject refused to leave the stadium when told to do so.

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 6:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was escorted from the stadium for an alcohol violation and was given a criminal trespass warning not to return. Twenty minutes later the subject was found inside the stadium after having received the criminal trespass warning.

Public Intoxication: Three non-UT subjects and two UT students were found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage in a public place during the football game.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: Two UT students, under the legal age of 21, where found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage.

Alcohol Violations: Thirty-four subjects, both UT affiliated and non-UT subjects where escorted from the stadium for alcohol violations.

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 7:45 p.m.

Theft: A black Sprint cellular telephone, and $60.00 in U.S. currency were stolen from the cargo pocket of a subjects shorts while in section 20 row 30. The complainant stated that a non-UT male bumped into him twice while dumping trash before he noticed his telephone and money missing. The suspect was located and the cellular telephone was recovered. Loss value: $60.00.

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 7:40 p.m.

Disorderly Conduct: In section 31, two non-UT subjects were involved in an altercation when one subject refused to sit down during the game since he was blocking the other subject's view.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred between 8-29-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 8-30-02 at 9:40 p.m.

Theft: A 21-speed red Schwinn mountain bicycle with front shocks was stolen from the bicycle racks located on the west side of the building. Loss value $100.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-30-02 at 6:20 p.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: Two non-UT subjects were located on the eighth floor attempting to sell magazine subscriptions for Pacific Coast Clearing Services. Each received a written criminal trespass warning.

Parking Lot 37, 2200 Block Red River

Occurred on 8-30-02 between 11:01 a.m. and 3:10 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: A white Mitsubishi Gallant parked in the southeast portion of the lot was struck by an unknown vehicle causing damage to the right rear quarter panel and trunk area. Repair value: $1,000.00.

Parking Lot 80, 1900 Block Red River

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 11:30 p.m.

Public Intoxication: An intoxicated non-UT subject was reported to be attempting to drive a 2000 model Buick out of the lot. The subject was located outside the vehicle and stated he was "going to sleep on the 50 yard line."

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-2-02 at 6:10 p.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: Two UT-students were located inside the second floor Reference area after the library had closed. Both subjects were issued a criminal trespass warning for the area.

Paisano Ranch House, South of Oak Hill

Occurred on 8-30-02 at 5:00 a.m.

Suspicious Person: A non-UT subject was found parked out the gate leading to the Paisano Ranch. Subject revealed during the interview that his passenger had fled into the woods on foot.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 9-2-02 at 6:46 p.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT student was observed by Rec. Sports staff removing weights from the work out area. When asked to return the weights the subject refused to do so. When told he needed to leave the building the subject refused to leave. Subject was issued a criminal trespass warning for the area.

Robert Lee Moore Hall, 2515 Speedway

Occurred between 9-1-02 at 4:00 a.m. and 9-2-02 at 3:02 a.m.

Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: A Coca Cola vending machine located on the east side of the building was found broken into and the dollar bill intake box removed. Repair value: $400.00. Loss value undetermined at this time.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-29-02 at 6:45 p.m. and on 8-30-02 at 4:30 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: An unknown male entered into an unsecured dormitory room located on the third floor while the resident was sleeping. When confronted by the resident, the subject stated he was looking for a friend and that he had just gotten out of jail. The resident again saw the same subject standing by the elevators the next day. Subject is described as a light skinned black male with a stocky build.

T. U. Taylor Hall, #8 East Mall

Occurred between 8-30-02 at 11:00 p.m. and 8-31-02 at 12:50 a.m.

Theft: A brown leather purse containing a brown leather bi-fold wallet, which contained various identification cards, $30.00 in U.S. currency, and a $345.00 payroll check were stolen from a coat rack located inside an unsecured second floor room. Loss value: $475.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 9-3-02 at 5:00 a.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found camping out in an alcove located on the south side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 3:37 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed on the fourth floor in an area restricted to faculty, staff and students. During the investigation it was determined the subject had received several written warnings for the area.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 8-30-02 at 12:44 p.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed going through the trash in the dumpster located on the west side of the building. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

200 block East 21st Street

Occurred on 8-31-02 between 3:00 a.m. and 3:14 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A grey 2002 Mitsubishi Galant parked on the north side of Jester Dormitory was left unsecured and unattended with the engine running. When the owner returned she discovered that her car key, mailbox key, house key and the black remote control for keyless entry had been stolen from her vehicle. A dark colored sports utility vehicle was observed leaving the area with four unknown males inside the vehicle. The driver was described as a white male with long hair. Loss value: $80.00.

200 block East 22nd Street

Occurred on 9-2-02 at 12:05 a.m.

Criminal Trespass Warning: Seven non-UT subjects were observed roller blading along the rim of the East Mall Fountain. Each received a written criminal trespass warning.

2300 block Guadalupe

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 3:00 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia: A blue Chevy Blazer was observed driving erratically at a high rate of speed in the 2000 Block of Guadalupe. The vehicle spun out nearly tipping over after striking the east curb line. The driver, identified as a non-UT subject, was determined to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point where he was driving while intoxicated. During the investigation a 2" wooden pipe containing marijuana residue was found in possession of the subject.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A passenger identified as a non-UT subject under the legal age of 21, was found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage.

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 4:00 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A passenger identified as a non-UT subject under the legal age of 21, was found to have consumed several alcoholic beverages. During the investigation the subject became argumentative with the officers.

1900 block Red River

Discovered on 8-31-02.

Criminal Mischief: The driver's side window of a 1995 Toyota Camry was discovered broken out. Repair value: $100.00.

2500 block Red River

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 8:20 p.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT-student, under the legal age of 21, was observed staggering as he crossed Dean Keeton Street. Subject had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

2300 block San Jacinto Blvd.

Discovered 9-2-02 at 4:49 p.m.

Graffiti: Graffiti written in yellow ink was located on a metal bench at the bus stop at the intersection of 23rd Street and San Jacinto. Repair value: $100.00.

2000 block Speedway

Occurred on 8-31-02 at 6:30 p.m.

Criminal Mischief / Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject, under the legal age of 21, was observed hitting the rear driver's side window with an open palm breaking the window. During the investigation it was determined the subject had consumed several alcoholic beverages and was intoxicated which resulted in him losing his balance. Repair value: $500.00.
